Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine is a mercurial artist and songwriter who mixes the soul of gospel and jazz with R&B to create a unique mix. She's appeared on Broadway in the Democratic National Convention and in European festivals and clubs. Sunshine's given name is Denise White. Though she's from Atlanta but her origins are located in Chester Pennsylvania. There she was first introduced to the idea of becoming musician through playing guitar and singing at church. In Atlanta she went to Spellman College where her musical education began in the local R&B Scene. The Fighting Temptations The single that featured her vocals, Stalk You an House was only released in Japan. It has had numerous remixes and it is a mainstay of her live show. The voice of hers was featured on the soundtrack for The Fighting Temptations. She was named the principal keyboardist for Tyler Perry's production Meet the Browns in 2005. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy and Tony Award winning vocalist who had worked on the stage production Dreamgirls at the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, approached her to be the director of choral for the stage production. Sunshine gained national recognition through her performances on four consecutive days during 2008's Democratic National Convention. She got invited to perform during the President's 2008 inauguration.
